Due to the current ongoing situation with COVID-19, we are working closely with Motorsport Australia and taking the advice given by the Government as to when we can go racing again. We will be holding the AGM when we can do this while adhering to the government regulations. At this stage we are hoping for a July 1 restart, we will keep everyone updated on what is happening when we have received more information.
With the two groups there has been a lot of work done to the property. There have been a lot of repairs done to the autocross track; this includes over 150 tone of gravel. There has been work done to repair the damage to the property caused by the Bushfires.
The treasurer has been working on Grants from both state and federal governments. The total of these grants so far is $135, 000. We are hoping that the club is successful at receiving some of these funds.
The club has had 3 x 50,000 litre water tanks installed, for fire fighting purposes. The club has also acquired a second grader, with many thanks to the Hunter Valley Off Road Racing Association for their donation. A big thank you to Murray and Peter for liaising with the HVORRA. Also a big thank you to Mick Latimore of Manning Valley Cranes for collecting the Grader from Milbordale and delivering it to Nabiac at no cost to the club.
We have been working on a revised calendar for the remainder of the year but without a start date we cannot confirm when these events will be happening. We are hoping the first event back will be a Motorkhana and Khanacross weekend. We are also looking at running a Club Off Road prior to the start of the Off Road Season.
I hope that all our members and their families are safe and well. On behalf of the committee I hope to be giving everyone the good news soon.
